You bought a traditional, cozy Copenhagen apartment in the heart of the city. How did you approach renovating and decorating your space?
I had mood boards for months during the half-year wait to move in. I love decorating new spaces. Right now, I’m waiting to move into a new photo studio, and I’m excited to pick wall colours, decide what artwork goes where, and create a vibe that feels perfect to spend time in.
You seem to embody creative living. Where do you find inspiration for your home and creative projects?
Inspiration is everywhere; traveling, unique boutiques, people-watching, unexpected colour combinations, Instagram, and magazines. I love flipping through magazines with a glass of wine at home. It’s a ritual that keeps my creativity flowing.
How is it living in Copenhagen, and what are your favorite spots in Vesterbro?
While I’d love to live in NYC full-time, for now, I’m happy to split my year between there and Copenhagen. I love biking around Copenhagen’s stunning old architecture. Driving past castles and historical buildings daily is something I’m incredibly grateful for. In Vesterbro, I frequent the bakery BRØD for amazing pastries and the Italian restaurant Mangia. For a casual pint, Snork is a go-to spot.
Do you live with your own art?
I do! I’d prefer not to, but it’s readily available, so I can’t resist. I rotate pieces often and rearrange framed works frequently to maintain harmony. I’m particular about details and can’t fully relax if the colours or placement feel off.
What do colours mean to you?
I LOVE colours. I rarely shoot in black and white because colours complete an image for me—they convey emotion, depth, and life. My home reflects this passion—orange, rosa and yellow combinations create a joyful energy, which I find essential.
Any tips for living with colours?
Find your favorite combinations and stick to them. Don’t be afraid to experiment until something clicks. Thrift stores are my go-to for adding personality to my space with vases or small items. It’s amazing how a simple, colourful piece can transform the entire vibe of a room.
You’re an ambassador for organizations focused on mental well-being. What role does home play in happiness?
As someone navigating neuro divergence, my home is essential. It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about creating an environment where I can feel at peace. Comfortable furniture, soft fabrics, and calming colours make all the difference. This space allows my creativity to flourish, whether I’m redecorating, painting floors, or dreaming up new ideas. Home keeps me grounded and gives me the freedom to be myself.
