And if, after many years of daily use, the covers have reached the end of their life, you can easily replace them without having to buy a new sofa. Both the Noah Sofa and the Torio Sofa are built from individual modules that can be added, removed or rearranged at any time. With just two modules, you can quickly create a comfortable guest bed. Moving to a new home? Simply adapt the configuration to suit the space. And if, after many years, one module shows more wear than the others, you only replace that one part and not the entire sofa. That is what long lasting design means to us.
Materials That Work for Real Family Life
Synthetic Fibres or Natural Fibres? Which Is Better for Families?
When it comes to upholstery fabrics, there are two main options. Natural fibres such as cotton, linen and wool offer a beautiful feel and are biodegradable. At the same time, they tend to be more delicate and require more care in everyday life. Synthetic fibres are exceptionally durable, easy to maintain and built for daily use. That is why we have chosen a synthetic upholstery fabric for our standard collection. The fabrics used on both the Noah Sofa and the Torio Sofa achieve more than 60,000 Martindale cycles, making them exceptionally hard wearing. At the same time, pure polyester is fully recyclable, allowing it to remain part of a circular material cycle. For families, we believe this is the most sensible balance between durability, longevity and responsible material choices. Removable Covers: The Most Important Family hack
Life with children comes with spills and stains. That is simply part of it. That's why every cover on the Noah Sofa and Torio Sofa is fully removable and machine washable at 30°C. It may sound obvious, but surprisingly few sofas offer removable covers on every single part. At Noah, every cushion, backrest and seat cover can be removed. To help them last even longer, we recommend closing the zips, folding hook and loop fasteners inwards and washing with a maximum spin speed of 800 rpm. If, after many years, a cover eventually needs replacing, simply order a new one. The sofa stays.
A Light Sofa with Kids? No Need to Compromise on Colour
Many families avoid light coloured sofas because they are worried about stains. We dont think you have to. Every Noah cover is fully removable and machine washable. Most everyday marks can be wiped away with a damp cloth, while bigger accidents simply go into the washing machine at 30°C. And you dont have to choose one colour forever. If darker shades feel right during the years with young children but later on you would prefer something lighter, simply order a new set of covers. The sofa stays exactly the same. At Noah, practicality should not dictate your colour choice, our personal taste should - whether you prefer warm neutrals or bold colours. Every Noah sofa is produced in close collaboration with family run manufacturers in Germany. Each piece is made to order, helping us avoid overproduction, unnecessary stock and wasted resources.
